In the six edition of the Storage magazine/SearchStorage.com Quality Awards for enterprise arrays, NetApp finishes first. The Quality Awards recognize products that have proven their quality and reliability in use. The results are derived from a survey of qualified readers who assess products in five main categories: sales-force competence, initial product quality, product features, product reliability and technical support. Products are rated on a scale of 1.00 to 8.00, where 8.00 is the best score. A total of 441 respondents provided 727 system evaluations.

This is the second consecutive time NetApp has finished first, after sharing top honors with EMC on the fourth edition of the Quality Awards. The strong showing from NetApp is further proof of NetApp’s strength in Enterprise SAN. NetApp had an overall score of 6.71 by taking top honors in four (sales force competence, initial product quality, product features, technical support) of the five rating categories. Hitachi Data Systems finished second, and EMC and IBM were tied for third.

A strong indicator of product satisfaction is a customer’s willingness to make the same purchase all over again. When that question was asked on the survey, NetApp was the highest rated with 92% of the respondents saying they would purchase NetApp again.
